DONNA MARIE

Donna Marie

DONNA MARIE A 36-foot boat with a very short career. Built at Houghton Point in 1938, by Frank Muhlke, for Ted Bodin. Launched on July 31, and taken to Duluth that autumn to fish herring. On December 11, the boat was rammed and sunk by the 60 ft., steel-hulled SEA BIRD, owned by LaPointe Bros. Fishery. A newspaper account of the accident is posted on the SEA BIRD page.

Photo: Donna Marie, probably taken at her launching on July 31, 1938. Man at stern appears to be Frank Muhlke, her builder.
